While past settlements for alleged sexual harassment were already publicized against Bill O’Reilly years ago, the New York Times suddenly brought it all up again. While many low information people may think this is some new scandal, most of it is old news mixed with new salacious details. Regardless of the allegations, President Trump defended O’Reilly today.
“Personally I think he shouldn’t have settled. You should have taken it all the way. I don’t think Bill did anything wrong. I think he’s a person I know well — he is a good person,” Trump told the New York Times .
The issue here is not what O’Reilly (did or didn’t do) and it has nothing to do with the president’s opinion. The issue is the timing of this re-packaged story. Why would the New York Times do an expose’ on Bill O’Reilly using stories they already published when this first came out?
Only days before the so-called story broke, O’Reilly was all over the news for making fun of Maxine Water’s wig by comparing it to James Brown. The next thing you know, the New York Times regurgitates a bunch of old stories into one big Bill O’Reilly attack. Could this be retaliation for the Maxine Waters hit?
After all, the left wing media has always claimed Michael Jackson was unfairly branded as a child molester, because he paid out multi-million dollar settlements in order to avoid long expensive court battles. And what about the settlements paid out by former president Bill Clinton? According to the left, settling out of court didn’t make “Slick Willy” guilty.
Make no mistake, O’Reilly is a pompous ass, but he’s also a giant thorn in the side of the fakestream media that can only dream of getting the audience he has. Moreover, if you’re friends with Trump, you’re a target of the left.
