Janet Jackson is divorcing her Muslim tycoon husband Wissam Al Mana, after four years of marriage and only three months after giving birth to her first child, a baby boy named Eissa Al Mana. Since Jackson secretly married Al Mana in 2012, she’s been spotted wearing head coverings and modest clothing that fueled rumors the pop singer had converted to Islam for her 42-year-old billionaire husband.
Al Mana reportedly insisted that the couple live under strict Muslim law, which includes barring a new mother from being seen in public while nursing the baby. Insiders say Al Mana became much more controlling after Janet gave birth and demanded she stop wearing provocative clothing and performing with male dancers at her concerts. While Janet has never admitted converting to Islam, it appears she doesn’t like being a woman living under Muslim law.
The word is Jackson will return with her son to the United States while Al Mana will stay in London to run the company his father founded.
